Emily, the oldest and wisest goat living at Storybook
Acres tells a Christmas story to the other animals.  Ed &
Gracie learn about the special gift all animals receive on
Christmas Eve night.  Emily explains why there is a
cross marking on the donkey's back.
Shirley and the old farm woman travel to the
town of  Conneaut, Ohio.  During their travels
Shirley falls in love with a pair of lovely red
shoes.  She experiences loss, her limitations,
sorrow, happiness, belonging, and what is
important in her life
.
Charley finds a family:  Charley's life is turned upside
down when the Storybook Family moved into his quiet
environment.  Charley thought he living alone and
belonging to no one was the perfect life.  He learns being
part of a family is where real happiness is found.
Shirley is a very fragile goat.
She has stopped eating
several times and the cold is
life threatening.  Shirley is
unable to walk without braces
and shoes.  Alan made braces
out of PVC pipe and I made
shoes out of clay.  We bring
Shirley inside every 2 days
for her physical therapy and
her legs are soaked in warm
water with my herbal product
(Shirley's soaks).  Her braces
are changed and she has
peppermint tea and cookies
with us.  In the winter, she
rests on a quilt in front of the
fireplace.
Storybooks
A letter from Michele

I enjoy visiting schools reading my stories to
pre-schoolers and elementary students. I
encourage reading and give confidence to
children to write their own stories. Many
schools have offered the students a
chance to buy books at a cost to cover
printing supplies only. My stories
encourage self-esteem, character building,
acceptance of our differences and loving. If
your student’s school would be interested
in a writing workshop for students just give
me a call or an e-mail. I do this to give back
for my wonderful education and the
encouragement I received from teachers.
Monies from our books and catalog items
go back into the farm, so we can care for
several handicap animals.
